Objectives

CLYOSPHERE approach aims to reach high Solar To Hydrogen (STH) conversion efficiencies by combining novel efficient photo(thermo)catalysts based on hybrid semiconductor/carbon formulations, and building-up an innovative photoreactor. To achieve these objectives, activities will focus on combining (1) the preparation and characterization of the photo(thermo)catalysts with (2) the development of the new concept of solar photo(thermo)reactor in vapor phase.

Objective 1. Synthesis of hybrid 3D catalysts absorbing in the vis-nIR region, containing a stable, active absorber with activity under UV/visible/nIR, and offering high surface area, good porosity, and suitable mechanical strength.

Objective 2. Immobilization of the active photoabsorber phase in 3D supports.

Objective 3. Validating photo(thermo)catalytic assays in near realistic conditions at lab-scale.

Objective 4. Construction of a demonstration CPC photoreactor.

Objective 5. Validation of the demonstrator in outdoor irradiation conditions.
